See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

The Red Lion is an older red brick and slate building that is kept in good repair. It fronts onto Welland Rise which is a residential road in the centre of the village. There is a small car park to the rear. The pub has been privately owned for at least 20 years. It is mainly a food pub with a good selection and 120 wines to chose from. Monday Night is Curry night at £5.00 per head. In 2010. the Red Lion was awarded the Wine Pub of the Year in the Good Pub Guide. It has two flats providing accommodation with one designed as a family unit. With a friendly atmosphere, it has the local support and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.
